Running Mac OS X, how to get my UDID and install app on Apple TV 4

Note: To Connect Apple TV 4th Gen. to PC or MAC, you need a USB – A to USB-C cable, thats the only way to install apps on Apple TV.

If you are running Mac OS X system, it’s much easier to obtain UDID and install apps on your Apple TV 4

Step 1.

Download and install Apple Configurator 2 (by Apple) from App Store on your Mac.

Step 2.

You should see your Apple TV in Apple Configurator 2 once you connect it to your Mac, right click on it, select “Get Info”.

Step 3.

Select the entire UDID string, press Command+C (or right click mouse, select COPY) to copy it to clipboard. You will need it when activating your Apple TV with us.

Step 4.

Once you activated your Apple TV in our system, you should get an IPA file which you can install on your Apple TV.

To install, click “Add” button on the top, then select “Apps”, find the IPA file you just downloaded from us. It should start installing.

You are all set 🙂 The app should appear on your Apple TV now.
