Kodi, Stremio and Nuvio are three popular media apps that KTB can install on your Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. They overlap, but each has a different focus. This page compares them side by side so you can choose the one that suits how you watch – or install more than one with the same KTB subscription.

Kodi: a full media centre
Kodi is the most powerful of the three for organising media you already own. It scans folders on your device or home network, builds a library with artwork and descriptions, and remembers what you have watched. You can change its look completely with skins. The trade-off is complexity: there are many settings, and it takes a little time to set up. Install Kodi on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.
Stremio: one library, every device
Stremio is built around a personal library and a continue-watching list that sync through your Stremio account. If you move between Apple TV, iPhone and iPad and want to pick up where you left off, Stremio makes that easy. It has fewer settings than Kodi and is quicker to get started with. Install Stremio on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.
Nuvio: modern and lightweight
Nuvio is the newest of the three. It focuses on a clean, attractive interface and is changing quickly, with frequent updates from its developers. Choose it if you prefer a modern design and do not mind features evolving between versions. Install Nuvio on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.
Remote control on Apple TV
All three apps work with the Siri Remote. Kodi has the most menus to navigate, so some people prefer the Apple TV Remote in Control Centre on iPhone. For typing (search, sign-in), your iPhone can show a keyboard notification for Apple TV text fields with any of the three apps.
Which one should I choose?
- You have movies, music or photos on a NAS or computer at home: start with Kodi.
- You watch on several Apple devices and want progress to follow you: try Stremio.
- You want the simplest, most modern-looking app: try Nuvio.
- Not sure? One KTB subscription per device lets you install all three and decide for yourself.
How to install them
All three apps are installed the same way: get a KTB subscription, follow the KTB Setup Guide, then choose the app inside KTB. If anything goes wrong, see Troubleshooting.
