What is Stremio?
Stremio is a free app developed by Stremio. It gives you one interface for the video services and media you already have access to, with a library, continue-watching list and progress that follows you between devices when you sign in with the same Stremio account.
KTB is not affiliated with or endorsed by Stremio. We install the app and keep it working on your Apple device; how you use it, and which services you connect, is up to you.
Supported devices and requirements
- Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD running tvOS 16 or later
- iPhone and iPad running iOS / iPadOS 16 or later
- An active KTB subscription – one subscription covers one device
- A Stremio account if you want your library and progress to sync (optional)
Install Stremio with KTB in three steps
- Choose a plan. Start with the KTB subscription (a free-trial option is available).
- Set up KTB on your device. Follow the KTB Setup Guide to install the KTB management profile and accept the KTB app installation.
- Install Stremio. Open KTB, select Stremio and choose Download & Install. When it finishes, Stremio appears on your Home Screen.
Signing in to your Stremio account
Open Stremio and choose to log in with your existing Stremio account, or create a new one. On Apple TV, typing with the Siri Remote can be slow – when the on-screen keyboard appears, your iPhone usually shows a keyboard notification so you can type your email and password on the phone instead.
Signing in is optional, but it lets your library and watch progress follow you between your Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. If you sign out or reinstall Stremio, simply sign in again and your library returns.
Updating Stremio
When a new Stremio version is available for Apple devices, KTB offers it as an update. Open KTB, select Stremio and choose Update. Your account data is stored with your Stremio account, so updating does not remove your library.
Troubleshooting Stremio
- Stremio says it is no longer available or will not open. Check that your subscription is active in My Account, then reinstall Stremio from KTB. See Troubleshooting.
- Cannot sign in. Check your email and password on another device first. If you use a password manager on iPhone, the iPhone keyboard notification can fill it in for Apple TV.
- Library or progress not syncing. Make sure you are signed in to the same Stremio account on every device.
- Stremio crashes after a tvOS or iOS update. Install the latest Stremio version from KTB.
